Her role expanded out of the box, as she became a Co-Director for "Lovers of Hendrix", and now a Director and Co-Writer for "Lovers of Marley". Her position as an honorable dance educator, choreographer and adjudicator continues to be in high demand throughout North America having taught at recognized studios such as Liv’Art Dance Studios, OIP, Harbour Dance Center, Drive Dance Center, iDance and more. Ashley is continuously exposed to new professional experiences that intensify her career as a versatile, passionate performer and creator.

"The birth of any creation comes from its composition or "choreography," and, for me, music is what inspires my soul to create movement. Rock and roll is a genre that especially resonates within not only me, bu, the whole world. Although music and humanity has evolved so much, history remains the same. The Lovers Cabaret will reconnect it's audience with their soul, just as rock music has always done."

Lineke Van Kleek

Assistant Director

Lineke has been a part of The Lovers Cabaret since our birth in 2012. Often hailed by the cast as the "Mama Hen", her love of both dance and music shines in her role as a choreographer, dance captain, and Assistant Director.

Originally from Abbotsford, BC, she started out with a foundation in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Tap, Theatre and then went on to primarily Hip Hop. As a dance performer, choreographer and instructor of over ten years, Lineke has a well-developed teaching style and exudes an unmatched passion for sharing her joy of the art form.  Drawing from inspiration both outside of and within the dance community, she continues to give back by sharing her creativity and infectious positive energy with those around her.  As an adult, Lineke experienced a deep renewal of her love for dance in the form of Breaking. Being blessed with the exposure to the culture of Bboying, she discovered a brand new vehicle for true self-expression that literally turned her perspective on dance upside down!  This has led to an enthusiastic desire to continue to pursue her passion through performing, choreographing and teaching.

Hailing from Abbotsford, Lineke has recently given back to her community with her work as Choreography Director for the BC Summer Games. This year she received the 2016 Arty Award for Outstanding Performing Artist in Dance.

Lineke began with The Lovers Cabaret in our Mentorship program, wanting to grow as a choreographer. However, her creative vision and strong leadership led to a more permanent role with the company. She even got to choreograph for the legendary Bif Naked when The Lovers performed with her in 2015! We are excited to have her continue her journey with our team now as an Assistant Director!
